Common PS5 problems without an error code
PS5 won't turn on
First confirm the wall outlet works and reseat the power cable at both ends. If the console is fully dead, hold the power button for about 30 seconds, then try again. If the power light blinks blue and shuts off, boot into Safe Mode (hold the power button until the second beep) and rebuild the database. A blinking white light usually points to a power or HDMI handshake issue, so try a different power cable and a different HDMI port.
PS5 black screen or no signal
Reseat the HDMI cable at both ends and try a different HDMI port on your TV, then confirm the TV input matches that port. If the screen stays black, boot into Safe Mode and choose Change Video Output, then Change Resolution to reset to a safe mode. A failing or low-bandwidth HDMI cable is a common cause, so test a known-good high-speed cable.
DualSense stick drift
Update the controller firmware (Settings, Accessories, Controller Firmware), then reset the controller using the small button on the back near the Sony logo. Cleaning around the stick base with compressed air can help. If drift persists, the analog module is likely worn and needs repair or replacement.
