GTA 6 pre-load opens on November 12, 2026 for anyone with a digital pre-order. That is a full week before the November 19 launch, which is unusually early and gives you plenty of time to download a large game without a last-minute scramble.

If the disc edition is more your style, you can still pre-order physical, but that copy installs from the disc on launch day instead of pre-loading. A day-one patch may still download separately, so a stable connection on November 19 helps either way.

That figure is not confirmed by Rockstar; it is a planning estimate based on the size of recent open-world games.
