GTA 6 pre-order: the key facts

Standard vs Ultimate Edition

There are exactly two editions. The Standard gives you the complete game. The Ultimate adds exclusive single-player content that is unlocked through the campaign rather than handed over all at once.

EditionPrice (US)What you get
Standard$79.99The full GTA 6 story campaign, plus the Vintage Vice City Pack pre-order bonus
Ultimate$99.99Everything in Standard, plus exclusive in-campaign content (see below) and the same pre-order bonus

What the Ultimate Edition adds (for $20 more): five exclusive businesses unlocked as you play (Rideout Customs, a full mod shop; Sara's Unisex Salon; the Stock 305 clothing store; Electric Fang Tattoo, with 50-plus signature tattoos; and One-Eyed Willie's, an off-road mod shop), the Hawk & Little Morgan Revolvers plus engraved variants of Jason's and Lucia's pistols, and exclusive vehicles. All of it is single-player content, woven into the campaign rather than dropped in your lap at the start.

Which to buy // If you mainly want the story, the Standard is plenty. The Ultimate is worth it if you want the extra shops, weapons and vehicles built into your playthrough and do not mind the extra $20.

GTA 6 price

In the US, GTA 6 is $79.99 for the Standard Edition and $99.99 for the Ultimate Edition. Those are the official prices Rockstar set when pre-orders opened. There is no separate Special, Deluxe, or Collector's Edition.

Regional pricing follows local storefronts, and not every country had its exact figure published at launch. Check your own PlayStation Store, Microsoft Store, or the Rockstar Store for the price in your currency.

Now that the real prices are out ($79.99 and $99.99), treat any listing far above the Ultimate's $99.99 as a red flag. The viral $150 and $200-plus figures that circulated before launch were never real, and some of those listings are scams.

Pre-order bonus: the Vintage Vice City Pack

Every GTA 6 pre-order, on both the Standard and Ultimate editions, includes the Vintage Vice City Pack, a nostalgia-themed in-game bundle. It contains:

  • The two-tone '55 Vapid Stanier, a vintage sedan with whitewall tires
  • The Shore Court Garage and an Ocean Beach property
  • Vintage outfits and hairstyles for both Jason and Lucia, including Jason's pastel linen suit
  • A Tommy Vercetti-themed weapon pattern (the palm-tree shirt design) you can apply to most guns

Deadline // To get the Vintage Vice City Pack you need to pre-order before November 20, 2026. After that the bonus is no longer guaranteed.

Is there a GTA 6 Collector's Edition?

No. Despite years of speculation and leaks pointing to a physical Collector's Edition with a statue or steelbox, Rockstar released only two editions: Standard and Ultimate. There is no Collector's Edition, no Special Edition, and no Deluxe Edition.

If you were holding out for the premium tier, the Ultimate Edition ($99.99) is as high as the line-up goes. It is a digital upgrade built around extra in-campaign content rather than physical collectibles. See the Standard vs Ultimate breakdown above for exactly what it includes.

When you can pre-load

Digital pre-orders can start pre-loading on November 12, 2026, a full week before the November 19 launch. Pre-loading early means the game is installed and ready to play the moment it unlocks. Turn on automatic downloads and set your console as your primary device so it downloads as soon as the window opens.

Scam warning

Buy only through official storefronts (PlayStation Store, Xbox or Microsoft Store, the Rockstar Store) or major retailers you trust. The Standard is $79.99 and the Ultimate is $99.99, so ignore any listing priced far above that, any seller promising early access or beta keys, and any site asking for payment by gift card or bank transfer.

PS5 console bundles and storage

No PS5 console bundle that includes GTA 6 has been announced. If you do not own a PS5, buy the console and pre-order the game separately. If you already own one, the most useful thing to sort before launch is internal storage. A flagship open-world game is large, and the PS5's built-in drive fills up fast. A compatible M.2 Gen4 NVMe SSD with a heatsink slots into the PS5's expansion bay and gives you room for GTA 6 alongside your library. Two drives that meet Sony's requirements:
