Red Dead Redemption Cheats

Red Dead Redemption has 39 built-in cheats. Twenty-one are full sentences that you type into the Cheats menu, and the same phrases work on PlayStation, Xbox, Switch and PC. The other 18 began as Rockstar Social Club rewards and now sit in the Cheats list already unlocked, so you only switch them on. Capital letters are ignored, but punctuation is not, and the infinite Dead Eye phrase keeps the game's own misspelling. Undead Nightmare has no cheats of its own, but it accepts many base-game cheats, and each entry's notes say whether it is listed as working there.

Before you use cheats: Turning on any cheat blocks trophies and achievements, and guides say the block stays even if you turn the cheat off again, so earn them from a save made before you used cheats. Autosave stops while a cheat is on. You can still save by hand, for example at a safehouse, but those saves stay marked as cheat saves, so keep a separate clean save and never overwrite it. Jack Attack marks the story as complete and switches you to Jack Marston, and only loading an earlier save undoes it. The same rules apply in Undead Nightmare.

How to enter cheats

PlayStation

Pause the game, open Options and select Cheats. Press Triangle to open the on-screen keyboard, type the phrase exactly as listed and confirm. The phrase is saved to the Cheats list, where you switch it on or off, so you never need to type it twice. Pre-unlocked cheats are already in that list. The same steps work on PS3 and PS4 and in Undead Nightmare. If the game says a cheat cannot be used during an activity, such as a mission, try again out in open country.

Xbox

Pause the game, open Options and select Cheats. Press Y to open the on-screen keyboard, type the phrase exactly as listed and confirm, then switch the cheat on from the Cheats list. Pre-unlocked cheats are already in that list. The same steps work on Xbox 360 and on the Xbox One and Series X|S versions, and in Undead Nightmare. Switch

On the 2023 Switch port, pause the game, open Options and select Cheats. Press X, the top face button, to open the on-screen keyboard, type the phrase exactly as listed and confirm, then switch the cheat on from the Cheats list. On the 2024 PC port, press Esc to pause, open Options and click Cheats. Press F, the key most guides name (use the key shown on screen if it differs), to open the text box, type the phrase exactly as listed and confirm, then switch the cheat on from the Cheats list. Many do. Undead Nightmare has no cheats of its own and uses the same Options and Cheats menu. Guides list invincibility, infinite ammo, infinite Dead Eye, the gun sets, Every Shot Counts and Beastmaster as working, while Clear Bounty and Change Weather are listed as not working. The money, Fame and Honor cheats may do nothing there because the expansion does not use those systems.

Why does the infinite Dead Eye cheat contain a misspelling?

The game's own phrase is spelled I don't understand Imnfinity, with an extra n. Guides and the Red Dead Wiki print it that way, so type it exactly as listed rather than correcting the spelling.

Are the cheats the same on PS4, Xbox, Switch and PC?

Yes. The phrases are identical on every version, including the 2023 PS4 and Switch ports and the 2024 PC port. Only the button that opens the keyboard differs: Triangle, Y, X or F.
