The Sims 4 Cheats

The Sims 4 has a built-in cheat console that accepts typed text commands. The console is opened with a keyboard shortcut on PC/Mac, or by holding all four shoulder/trigger buttons on PlayStation and Xbox. Almost all cheats must first be unlocked by typing "testingcheats true" (or "testingcheats on"); the actual cheat TEXT is identical across every platform, so most codes are entered the same way everywhere once the console is open.

Heads up // On PlayStation and Xbox, using any cheat that requires "testingcheats true" (and most live-mode cheats) DISABLES Trophies/Achievements for that save session. Pure Build/Buy cheats such as bb.moveobjects generally do not disable achievements. Cheats are typed exactly as shown including spaces, underscores, and capitalization, or they will not work; if a skill cheat fails try the age-prefixed variant (e.g. AdultMajor_Logic instead of Major_Logic). Some cheats only work in their relevant mode (e.g. cas.fulleditmode in CAS, bb.* in Build/Buy). Death and money cheats can have unintended/irreversible effects on a save; save a backup first. Expansion/pack-specific skills and careers only work if you own that pack. These are official built-in game cheats with no online-ban or legality concerns (single-player only); no third-party tools required.

How to enter cheats // PC

PC: While in a game (Live, Build/Buy, or CAS), press Ctrl + Shift + C to open the cheat console (a text bar at the top of the screen). Type a cheat and press Enter. Type testingcheats true first to unlock most gameplay cheats. Press Ctrl + Shift + C again to close the console.

Mac: While in a game, press Cmd (Command) + Shift + C to open the cheat console. Type a cheat and press Enter/Return. Type testingcheats true first to unlock most cheats. On some keyboards you may need to also hold Fn, or use Ctrl + Shift + C if Cmd does not work.
