Oblivion Remastered Console Commands
Oblivion Remastered (April 2025) has no cheat menu and no button-combo codes. On PC it has a developer console, now the Unreal Engine 5 console, that still understands most of the original 2006 game's commands: open it in game, type a command and press Enter. Some commands change your character (gold, level, skills), some act on whatever you click while the console is open (kill, unlock, resurrect), and some change the world (teleport, weather, quests). A number of old commands no longer work and a few new ones replaced them (ghost and walk instead of tcl, ToggleDebugCamera instead of tfc), so every entry below was matched against at least two independent sources. Item and spell IDs are the base-game form IDs. The console is PC only, and using it turns off achievements on that save.

Before you use cheats: ACHIEVEMENTS: unlike the 2006 original, Oblivion Remastered turns off achievements on the current save file as soon as you run any console command. The game shows a warning first. Sources advise keeping a separate save made before you ever opened the console and loading it when you want to earn achievements; The Nerd Stash says affected saves show a broken trophy icon. One Steam player claims the lock also hit new saves until a reinstall, but other players in the thread disagree and no publication confirms it. SAVE SAFETY: commands can crash the game or break quests, so make a manual save first and never experiment on your only save. The riskiest ones here are caqs (completes every quest in the game, including developer test quests), killall (also kills shopkeepers and quest NPCs nearby), setstage and completequest (skipping steps can leave a quest in a bad state), movetoqt (can leave you stuck inside walls), placeatme spawns (many spawns can bloat a save, and unique characters or horses can clash with the originals), psb (adds 600 or more spells and can slow the Magic menu), ShowRaceMenu and ShowClassMenu (reset your skills), and ObvGodMode (boosts your character and inventory with no documented undo). The console exists on PC only; PlayStation and Xbox versions cannot use any of this. Many 2006 commands no longer work in the Remastered, so only trust lists that say which ones do.
How to enter cheats
PC
Console commands exist only in the PC version. In game, press the tilde (~) key, the one under Esc and left of 1 on a US keyboard, to open the console. Type a command, press Enter, then press the key again to close it. Commands are not case sensitive and, unlike the 2006 game, the console does not pause the game. If the key does nothing, set your Windows keyboard layout to English (United States). Replace anything in < > with a real ID or number and do not type the brackets. For commands that act on something in the world (kill, unlock, resurrect, moveto), open the console first and click the NPC or object so its name appears above the console, then type the command; put player. in front of a command to apply it to yourself, as in player.additem. Old commands do not appear in the autocomplete suggestions but still work, and if one is not recognized you can put obvConsole and a space in front of it. Pressing Enter can also trigger whatever sits behind the console, such as using an inventory item, so keep the cursor off items.
PlayStation
PlayStation has no command console. Console commands are PC-only in Oblivion Remastered, so nothing on this page can be entered on PlayStation 5, and none of the guides checked list a button-combo cheat for it.
Xbox
Xbox consoles have no command console either. Console commands work only in the PC version, so nothing on this page can be entered on Xbox Series X|S, and none of the guides checked list a button-combo cheat for it.

God Mode, Noclip & Cameras (7)
Toggle god mode: no damage, no resource drain, unlimited ammo
Run it again to turn it off; it stays on until you do. Per UESP it blocks all damage except scripted deaths, stops health, magicka and stamina from dropping, lets you cast any known spell regardless of cost or skill, ignores the carry limit and stops weapon and armor wear.
PCtgmNew Remastered god mode with extras: maxed character, every spell, 1,000,000 gold
A Remastered-only command. On top of god mode, PCGamesN, Kotaku, The Nerd Stash and Game8 agree that it maxes your attributes and skills, grants every spell and adds 1,000,000 gold; Kotaku also lists 10,000 lockpicks and 5 torches. The god mode part is a toggle, but no source documents undoing the stat, gold and spell changes, so use a throwaway save. tgm is the plain toggle.
PCObvGodModeNoclip and flight: walk through walls and fly
Remastered replacement for the old tcl toggle. UESP, PC Gamer and GamesRadar report that tcl no longer works for player noclip, although some other guides still list it. Type walk to switch ghost off. UESP suggests toggling collision to get out after movetoqt problems, which in the Remastered means ghost.
PCghostTurn off ghost: stop flying and restore collision
Run it after ghost to get normal movement and collision back (UESP, PC Gamer).
PCwalkFree-fly camera, like a photo mode
Remastered replacement for the old tfc command. Run it again to return to the normal camera. Handy for screenshots.
PCToggleDebugCameraToggle NPC AI
With nothing selected it switches AI off or on for every actor; click one actor first to affect only that actor. Never run player.tai, because UESP says it freezes you in place. tcai, which toggles combat AI only, is also reported as working by UESP and PC Gamer.
PCtaiReveal the whole local map (fog of war off)
A toggle that reveals the map of your current area; run it again to hide it. Pair it with tmm 1 to show every map marker.
PCtfow
Gold, Keys & Items (8)
Add gold
Change 1000 to any amount. F is the short form of gold's item ID 0000000F, since leading zeros can be dropped.
PCplayer.additem F 1000Add lockpicks
Change 10 to the number you want. 0000000A is the standard lockpick item on UESP, PC Gamer and GamesRadar.
PCplayer.additem 0000000A 10Add the Skeleton Key
UESP lists 0000000B as the Daedric artifact Skeleton Key; PC Gamer, GamesRadar and Beebom use the same ID. One copy is enough.
PCplayer.additem 0000000B 1Add repair hammers
UESP lists 0000000C as the Repair Hammer; Fextralife gives the short form C.
PCplayer.additem 0000000C 5Add any item by ID (example: the Goldbrand katana)
The pattern for every item is player.additem <ItemID> <amount>. 00027105 is Goldbrand on UESP and in PCGamesN. Most original-game item IDs work (GuruGamer), so UESP item pages are the place to look up base IDs.
PCplayer.additem 00027105 1Add the Cure for Vampirism potion
ID from UESP, PCGamesN and GuruGamer. UESP ties this potion to the Vampire Cure quest.
PCplayer.additem 000977E4 1Give a set of iron weapons (new Remastered command)
Added for the Remastered, not part of the 2006 game. UESP records its in-game description as a set of iron weapons and GuruGamer agrees.
PCGiveViolenceRemove an item or gold from your inventory
The format is player.removeitem <ItemID> <amount> and it works with any item ID, not just gold.
PCplayer.removeitem F 500
Levels, Skills & Attributes (9)
Level up once
Shows the normal level-up screen so you can pick attribute bonuses. UESP notes it does not advance the major-skill counter, so your natural level-ups arrive later. Run it repeatedly for several levels.
PCadvlevelSet your level directly
PC Gamer and GamesRadar give a range of 1 to 255. It skips the level-up screen, so you get no attribute choices (UESP); use advlevel when you want them.
PCplayer.setlevel 30Raise a skill
The format is player.advskill <skill> <amount>. Skill names have no spaces: acrobatics, alchemy, alteration, armorer, athletics, blade, block, blunt, conjuration, destruction, handtohand, heavyarmor, illusion, lightarmor, marksman, mercantile, mysticism, restoration, security, sneak, speechcraft. Guides disagree on whether the number counts levels or points, so start small. UESP warns that big values on a major skill can distort your level-ups and that negative or huge numbers can crash the game.
PCplayer.advskill sneak 10Add points to a skill
Uses the same skill names as advskill. UESP warns that passing 255 wraps back to 0 and that negative values crash the game. The matching modpca command for attributes is reported as not working in the Remastered (PC Gamer, GamesRadar), so use player.setav for attributes.
PCplayer.modpcs sneak 10Set a skill to an exact value
UESP says setav on a skill avoids the level-up side effects that advskill can cause. Values above 255 wrap back to 0 (The Nerd Stash, GuruGamer).
PCplayer.setav blade 100Set an attribute to an exact value
Attributes: strength, intelligence, willpower, agility, speed, endurance, personality, luck. PCGamesN, The Nerd Stash and GuruGamer give 0 to 255 as the range. Read a value back with player.getav <attribute>.
PCplayer.setav strength 100Move faster by raising the Speed attribute
The old sprint-speed game setting (fMoveRunMult) is reported as not working in the Remastered by PC Gamer, and GamesRead recommends raising Speed instead.
PCplayer.setav speed 100Massively raise carry capacity
Use a negative number; positive values do not work (The Nerd Stash), and if it has no effect, save and reload. GamesRadar and The Nerd Stash use -5000, gamepressure uses -1000 and GuruGamer uses -9999. Alternative: setgs fActorStrengthEncumbranceMult 1000, where setgs is the short form of the SetGameSetting command Showgamer uses (PC Gamer lists the same setting, with a default of 5). tgm also ignores the limit, and no source explains how to undo either change.
PCplayer.forceav encumbrance -5000Change your character's size
The range is 0.5 to 2, with 1 as normal size. Click an NPC and drop the player. prefix to resize them instead.
PCplayer.setscale 2
Character Menus (5)
Open the character creation screen to change race, face, sex or name
Applying changes resets all skills to their starting values (UESP, TheGamer, The Nerd Stash), and UESP's save-and-reload trick for keeping skills does not work in the Remastered. Race bonuses may not swap over cleanly, and UESP warns it can crash with bound items equipped. Save first.
PCShowRaceMenuOpen the class selection screen
Works, but like ShowRaceMenu it resets your skills, and the skill-keeping workaround fails in the Remastered (UESP).
PCShowClassMenuOpen the birthsign selection screen
UESP notes it does not strip your existing spells.
PCShowBirthsignMenuOpen the spellmaking window
Opens the custom spell creation screen directly. Listed as working by PC Gamer, UESP, Kotaku and TheGamer.
PCShowSpellMakingOpen the enchanting window
Opens the enchanting interface directly. Listed as working by PC Gamer and UESP.
PCShowEnchantment
Spells & Magic (4)
Add every spell in the game to your spellbook
UESP says this adds 600 or more spells, including test spells and ones meant for NPCs, which can slow the Magic menu. Use player.addspell if you only want a few.
PCpsbAdd the Fire Ball spell
The format is player.addspell <SpellID>. This ID matches on UESP's spell list and Game8's Remastered spell list, and UESP marks it a Journeyman spell. tgm lets you cast spells regardless of skill.
PCplayer.addspell 000A97E7Add the Lightning Bolt spell
ID matches on UESP and Game8. Other IDs that match on both: Frost Bolt 000A97EC, Heal Major Wounds 000A9822, Summon Skeleton 000AA05F, Telekinesis 000AA066.
PCplayer.addspell 000A97F8Remove a spell from your spellbook
Uses the same ID format as addspell. To strip active magic effects instead of learned spells, use player.dispelallspells.
PCplayer.removespell 000A97E7
Combat, Locks & Bounty (6)
Kill the targeted NPC or creature
Open the console, click the target, then type kill. Essential NPCs are knocked unconscious instead of dying (UESP).
PCkillKill everyone in the loaded area
It hits friendly NPCs and shopkeepers as well as enemies. UESP says it covers a 5 by 5 cell area outdoors and the current cell indoors, and PCGamesN says important NPCs are knocked out rather than killed. It can break quests.
PCkillallBring the targeted NPC back to life
The 1 makes them get up in place with their gear instead of respawning (PC Gamer, UESP). If the body has already vanished, enable the NPC first (UESP).
PCresurrect 1Unlock the targeted door or container
Click the locked object with the console open, then type unlock. It only affects doors and containers (UESP). To lock something use lock <1-100>, where 100 needs a key (PC Gamer, GamesRadar).
PCunlockClear your bounty
UESP warns that guards who are already hostile may still attack until you yield. Use another number to give yourself that bounty.
PCplayer.setcrimegold 0Pay your fine but keep stolen goods
UESP says it takes gold equal to half the bounty and GuruGamer describes it the same way. player.payfine instead confiscates the stolen items (UESP, PC Gamer).
PCplayer.payfinethief
Teleport & Map (6)
Teleport to the developer Testing Hall
UESP describes a room of doors leading to many test cells, and The Nerd Stash lists it for the Remastered. Named locations work the same way, for example coc BrindleHome (UESP lists it as Torbal the Sufficient's house), and UESP place pages give each location's code. Use a throwaway save.
PCcoc TestingHallTeleport to an outdoor cell by grid coordinates
UESP writes the two coordinates with a comma, as in its example coe -9,19, and lists coordinates on its place pages. PC Gamer and GamesRadar both report the command as working.
PCcoe <X>,<Y>Teleport to your active quest target
UESP warns it can drop you inside geometry, leave you stuck in a cutscene state or disturb the quest. Add a number such as movetoqt 2 to pick another target when a quest has several, and use ghost then walk if you end up stuck.
PCmovetoqtBring the targeted NPC to you
Click the NPC first. UESP and GuruGamer also show the form where the NPC's RefID goes in quotes before the command, which skips the click.
PCmoveto playerShow every map marker and unlock fast travel to them
tmm 0 hides all markers again, including the city markers that start visible (UESP). The Nerd Stash and gamepressure say tmm 1 also lets you fast travel to every marker.
PCtmm 1PCtmm 0
Horses & Mounts (3)
Spawn a player-owned Bay Horse
Other colors: Black 0004DE8F, Chestnut 0004DE90 and Paint 0004DE91, all matched between UESP and the Remastered guides. The format is player.placeatme <BaseID> <count>, and UESP warns that spawning many objects can bloat your save.
PCplayer.placeatme 0004DE8E 1Spawn Shadowmere
ID from UESP's horse list and the Remastered guides. Shadowmere is a unique horse, so a spawned copy can clash with the original; try it on a spare save.
PCplayer.placeatme 00032BF4 1Spawn the Unicorn
UESP lists 0001EC58 as the unique Unicorn mount, and PCGamesN, TheGamer and The Nerd Stash use the same ID. Same caution as Shadowmere.
PCplayer.placeatme 0001EC58 1
Quests (6)
List every quest and its current stage
Prints all quests in the game, not just yours (UESP).
PCsqShow the selected quest's ID and stage
Select the quest in your journal first. The ID it prints is what getstage, setstage and completequest need.
PCsqtUnlock the setstage command
The Remastered keeps setstage switched off until you run this (UESP, plus a Steam answer where a player confirmed it worked). PC Gamer lists setstage as working without this step, and GuruGamer writes the name with an extra dot, so use the spelling shown here. No source says whether it must be repeated after restarting the game.
PCAltar.Cheat.AllowSetStage trueJump a quest to a chosen stage
Needs the previous command first. Stages usually move in steps of 10, with 10 meaning just accepted (PC Gamer, GamesRadar). Read the current stage with getstage <QuestID>. Skipping stages can break a quest, so back up your save.
PCsetstage <QuestID> <Stage>Mark a quest as completed
Get the ID from sqt. PC Gamer and GamesRadar describe it as completing the named quest, while UESP describes it as completing the current quest, so test it on a spare save.
PCcompletequest <QuestID>Complete every quest stage in the game
UESP says this finishes all quests, including developer test quests and mod quests, without touching faction ranks. TheGamer describes it as current-quest only, which the other sources contradict. Treat it as a last resort.
PCcaqs
Weather & Time (6)
Force clear weather instantly
fw switches at once, while sw with the same ID blends gradually (UESP). Other IDs: 38EF0 cloudy, 38EEC overcast, 370CE the bright Paradise preset (PCGamesN calls it sunny) and 08BBC the Kvatch thunderstorm.
PCfw 38EEEForce rain
ID matches on UESP, TheGamer, PCGamesN and The Nerd Stash. Use sw 38EF2 for a gradual change.
PCfw 38EF2Force a thunderstorm
UESP also lists 08BBC as a separate Kvatch thunderstorm.
PCfw 38EF1Force snow
ID matches on UESP, TheGamer, PCGamesN and The Nerd Stash.
PCfw 38EEDForce fog
ID matches on UESP and TheGamer.
PCfw 38EEFChange how fast game time passes
The default is 30, 1 is roughly real time and higher is faster (PC Gamer, GamesRadar, UESP). Reset with set timescale to 30. Sources disagree here: UESP marks it as not working in the Remastered, while PC Gamer, GamesRadar and a Steam player use it. UESP says leaving it changed can bug quests such as A Brush with Death and Where Spirits Have Lease.
PCset timescale to 1
This page covers the commands people search for most, not the whole console. The Remastered console also accepts many Unreal Engine 5 and Altar.* settings (graphics, audio, DLSS and FSR, saving, difficulty) that are not listed here, and UESP's Oblivion:Console page documents them. Commands that sources agree no longer work in the Remastered (tcl for the player, tfc, tm, tg, ts, tt, twf, tws, showsubtitle, stopcombat, startcombat, modpca, swdp, bat, ssg) are left out, as are commands where sources contradict each other and commands only one source mentions; each is listed in the verification notes. Item and spell IDs here are the ones confirmed by two sources; for any other item, look up its base ID on its UESP page and use player.additem <ID> <amount> or player.addspell <ID>. The guides were written mostly in April and May 2025, so later patches may have changed behavior, and none of them test the Nintendo Switch 2 release (August 2026) or say how the Microsoft Store and Game Pass PC builds behave.
FAQ
How do you open the console in Oblivion Remastered?
On PC, press the tilde (~) key during gameplay, type a command and press Enter, then press the key again to close it. If nothing happens, set your Windows keyboard layout to English (United States). The console does not pause the game, and it only exists on PC.
Can you use console commands on PS5 or Xbox?
No. The command console is PC-only. PlayStation and Xbox versions of Oblivion Remastered have no console, and none of the guides checked list any button-combo cheat for them.
Do console commands disable achievements in Oblivion Remastered?
Yes. Unlike the 2006 original, the Remastered warns you and then stops you earning achievements on the current save once any command is used. Sources advise keeping a separate save from before you opened the console and loading it when you want achievements.
What is the noclip command in Oblivion Remastered?
Type ghost to walk through walls and fly, and type walk to turn it off. UESP, PC Gamer and GamesRadar say the old tcl toggle no longer works for the player in the Remastered. ToggleDebugCamera gives a free camera instead.
How do you add gold with a console command?
Use player.additem F 1000 and change 1000 to the amount you want. F is the short form of gold's item ID 0000000F. The same player.additem format adds any item when you use its ID, for example 0000000A for lockpicks.
Why does the setstage command not work in Oblivion Remastered?
The Remastered keeps setstage disabled until you run Altar.Cheat.AllowSetStage true in the console. After that, use setstage with a quest ID and a stage number. You can find a quest's ID by selecting it in your journal and typing sqt.
