ARK Admin Commands and Cheats

ARK has no old-school button cheats; instead it exposes a developer admin-command console that works in single player and on private servers where you have admin rights. Commands such as "cheat god", "cheat fly" and "cheat GiveItemNum" toggle god mode, flight, spawn items and creatures, and more. In single player no password or prefix is needed; on multiplayer servers you must authenticate with "EnableCheats <password>" and prefix commands with "cheat" or "admincheat". Item and creature IDs number in the thousands, so the most-searched ones are listed here with the authoritative databases cited for the rest.

Before you use cheats: PC-friendly but available on all platforms via the admin console. Console commands are NOT available on Official servers (PvP/PvE) - only single player, non-dedicated sessions, and private/unofficial servers where you hold the admin password. There are no Steam/console achievements in ARK that get disabled, but using cheats on a server you do not administer is an instant ban-able offense and EnableCheats requires the real admin password. Spawning items/creatures or using god mode can destabilize a save (overweight stacks, glitched dinos that spawn inside you with SpawnDino, broken structures) - back up your save first. Type creature/item IDs exactly (case-sensitive class names) or the command silently fails. Commands and class names occasionally change between updates and between Evolved and Ascended; verify against the cited wikis.

How to enter cheats

PC

Survival Evolved: press Tab to open the console. Survival Ascended: first enable Settings > Advanced > Console Access (toggle On), then press the tilde (~) key in-game; press ~ again to fullscreen the console. In single player, type commands directly. On a multiplayer server, type 'EnableCheats <AdminPassword>' first, then prefix commands with 'cheat' or 'admincheat'. Press Enter to execute.

Xbox

Survival Evolved: open the pause menu, then press LB + RB + X + Y simultaneously to bring up the admin command bar. Survival Ascended: enable Console Access in Settings > Advanced first, then from the pause menu press the View button (or LB + RB + Y + X) to open the console. Use the on-screen keyboard to type a command, then submit.

PlayStation

Survival Evolved: open the pause menu, then press L1 + R1 + Square + Triangle simultaneously to bring up the admin command bar. Survival Ascended: enable Console Access in Settings > Advanced first, then from the pause menu press the Options/touchpad-left button (or L1 + R1 + Triangle + Square) to open the console. Type with the on-screen keyboard and submit.

All

In SINGLE PLAYER no password and no prefix are required. On a MULTIPLAYER SERVER you must run 'EnableCheats <password>' once per session, then prefix every cheat with 'cheat' (effects only you) or 'admincheat'. Some commands also require 'SetCheatPlayer true' to enable the extended cheat menu/UI.

Items, Resources & Engrams (8)

  • Give yourself an item by its numeric Item ID

Example: 'cheat GiveItemNum 1 1 1 0' gives one Simple Pistol. Quality 0-100; last arg 1 spawns a blueprint instead of the item. Many newer items have no numeric ID - use GiveItem/GFI instead.

    All platforms
    cheat GiveItemNum <ItemID> <Quantity> <Quality 0-100> <ForceBlueprint 0/1>
  • Give yourself an item by full blueprint path

Use the item's full Blueprint'...' path (from the wikis/databases).

    All platforms
    cheat GiveItem "<BlueprintPath>" <Quantity> <Quality> <ForceBlueprint 0/1>
  • Give an item by short GFI code (easiest method, ASA-friendly)

Example: 'cheat gfi WeaponMetalPick 1 0 0'. The GFI code is a unique substring of the blueprint name.

    All platforms
    cheat GFI <GFICode> <Quantity> <Quality> <ForceBlueprint 0/1>
  • Give a starter stack of basic resources

Adds 50 of every basic resource (ASE and ASA).

Spawning & Taming Creatures (6)

  • Spawn a wild creature at your location by class name

Example: 'cheat Summon Rex_Character_BP_C'. Spawns wild and untamed at a random level.

    All platforms
    cheat Summon <ClassName>
  • Spawn an already-tamed creature

Spawns a force-tamed creature at your position. It takes no level argument (use GMSummon to choose a level); example 'cheat SummonTamed Rex_Character_BP_C'.

    All platforms
    cheat SummonTamed <ClassName>
  • GM-spawn a tamed creature at a chosen level (best method)

Class name MUST be in quotes. The level you enter excludes the taming bonus, so divide your target level by 1.5 (example: 'cheat GMSummon "Rex_Character_BP_C" 100' gives a level 150 Rex).

    All platforms
    cheat GMSummon "<ClassName>" <Level>
  • Spawn a creature at a set distance and level (avoids spawning inside you)

Use a SpawnDistance of ~500+ so the creature does not glitch out of your body.

    All platforms
    cheat AddExperience <Amount> <FromTribeShare 0/1> <PreventSharing 0=share with tribe / 1=only you>

Use ListPlayers to get the PlayerID.

    All platforms

    All platforms
    cheat SetTimeOfDay <HH:MM:SS>
  • Slow down or speed up game/world time

  • Leave-me-alone: god + infinitestats + enemyinvisible at once

    Quick all-in-one safety toggle.

    All platforms
    cheat LeaveMeAlone

ARK has thousands of item IDs and hundreds of creature spawn class names across the base game and every expansion/map, far too many to list in full. Above are the most-searched commands plus a representative set of the most-used item IDs and creature class names. The most-searched item IDs (for 'cheat GiveItemNum <ID>'): Simple Pistol = 1, Assault Rifle = 2, Metal Pick = 35, Metal Hatchet = 36, Medical Brew = 52, Tranquilizer Arrow = 70, Metal Ingot = 73, Narcotic = 122, Spyglass = 279. Note that many newer/expansion items (e.g. Element = GFI 'PrimalItemResource_Element') have NO numeric ID and must be spawned with 'cheat GFI <code>' or 'cheat GiveItem'. Most-used creature class names (for 'cheat Summon' / 'cheat GMSummon \"...\" <level>'): Rex_Character_BP_C, Gigant_Character_BP_C (Giganotosaurus), Spino_Character_BP_C, Carno_Character_BP_C, Raptor_Character_BP_C, Ptero_Character_BP_C (Pteranodon), Argent_Character_BP_C (Argentavis), Quetz_Character_BP_C (Quetzal), Wyvern_Character_BP_Fire_C, Wyvern_Character_BP_Lightning_C, Wyvern_Character_BP_Poison_C, Ragnarok_Wyvern_Override_Ice_C (Ice Wyvern), RockDrake_Character_BP_C, Megalodon_Character_BP_C, Mosa_Character_BP_C (Mosasaurus), Therizino_Character_BP_C, Ankylo_Character_BP_C, Sauropod_Character_BP_C (Brontosaurus), Direwolf_Character_BP_C, Saber_Character_BP_C (Sabertooth), Dodo_Character_BP_C, Para_Character_BP_C (Parasaur), Stego_Character_BP_C, Trike_Character_BP_C (Triceratops), Allo_Character_BP_C (Allosaurus), Yutyrannus_Character_BP_C, Griffin_Character_BP_C, Phoenix_Character_BP_C, Daeodon_Character_BP_C, Mammoth_Character_BP_C. For the COMPLETE, authoritative and continuously updated item-ID, GFI-code and creature-spawn databases, use: the official ARK Community Wiki Item IDs (https://ark.wiki.gg/wiki/Item_IDs) and Creature IDs (https://ark.wiki.gg/wiki/Creature_IDs), plus the searchable databases ArkIDs (https://arkids.net/items , https://arkids.net/commands) and ARK Unity (https://ark-unity.com/ark-survival-ascended/items/). Always confirm a class name/ID against one of these before use, as they differ between Survival Evolved and Survival Ascended and change with updates.

FAQ

How do you enable cheats in ARK: Survival Ascended?

Open the in-game console first. In single-player or as an admin, press the Tab key (or your bound console key) to open the command bar, type the cheat, and press Enter. On a server you must enter the admin password with the enablecheats command before commands will work. On console you open the pause menu and use the admin command field.

What is the god mode command in ARK?

God mode is enabled with the cheat god command, which makes your character invulnerable to most damage. Note that it does not always prevent drowning, so a separate infinite-stats or no-oxygen approach is sometimes used. Re-entering the same command toggles god mode back off.

How do you fly in ARK: Survival Ascended?

Use the cheat fly command to detach from the ground and move freely in any direction, then use the walk command to land again. Flying is commonly paired with god mode and is useful for exploring the map, building, or reaching otherwise inaccessible areas.

Do cheats disable achievements in ARK: Survival Ascended?

Generally, using admin commands and cheats is intended for single-player, private servers, or admins, and many guides note that heavy cheat use can affect the legitimacy of a playthrough. Trophy and achievement behavior can vary by platform and patch, so it is safest to assume enabling cheats may block some achievements.

How do you spawn items and dinos with commands?

Items are spawned using a give-item command together with the item's ID or blueprint path and a quantity, while creatures are spawned with a summon or spawn command plus the dino's class name. Each item and dinosaur has its own ID, so you reference the specific code for whatever you want to create.

Do ARK cheats work on Xbox and PS5 or only PC?

Admin commands are available on PC, Xbox, and PlayStation, but PC has the fullest console access. On consoles you typically enter commands through the admin command field in the pause menu after enabling cheats, and a host or server admin controls access in multiplayer sessions.
