Will GTA 6 Have Cheat Codes?

Let us start with the small set of things that are on the record. GTA 6 launches November 19, 2026 on PS5 and Xbox Series X and Series S. A single-player story mode is confirmed: Design Director Scott Butchard discussed it with GQ. Those are facts.

Cheat codes are not one of those facts. Rockstar has made no official statement about GTA 6 cheats and has published no official cheat list. That means nothing can be verified before the game ships. We will not pretend otherwise, and you should be skeptical of any site that does.

Expected, not confirmed. Rockstar has said nothing about it. But the precedent is about as strong as game-design precedent gets. Cheats are a core part of how single-player Rockstar games have played for more than two decades, from spawning a tank to turning the world invincible to messing with gravity for a laugh.

Here is the track record across recent Rockstar single-player titles:

Every mainline GTA from III through V shipped with single-player cheats, and both Red Dead Redemption games did too. On that record, it would be a genuine surprise if GTA 6 dropped them entirely. So our honest read is: highly likely, by precedent, but until Rockstar says so or the game is in our hands, it stays in the "expected" column.

Everything in this section is precedent-based expectation drawn from GTA V and Red Dead Redemption 2. None of it is confirmed for GTA 6. Treat it as an informed guess about the shape of the system, not a spec sheet.

Single-player only (expected). In GTA V and RDR2, cheats lived entirely in the story mode. There is no reason to think GTA 6 would change that. The online side of these games runs anti-cheat and treats manipulation as a ban-worthy offense, so do not expect any sanctioned codes there.

Disabled in online (expected). Following the same precedent, codes will almost certainly do nothing in the multiplayer mode and attempting outside tools there is the fast route to a suspended account.

Trophies and achievements likely disabled (expected). In past Rockstar games, turning on a cheat blocked trophies and achievements for that session until you reloaded a save. If GTA 6 keeps this behavior, the rule of thumb is simple: do not save with cheats active if you care about a clean file or your trophy progress.

Probably no direct money cheat (expected). Both GTA V and RDR2 deliberately left out a give-me-cash code. If that pattern holds, do not count on a one-button money cheat in GTA 6 either. Again: precedent, not a promise.

How codes are entered is also unknown. Past games used controller button sequences, an in-game phone, or PC console commands. We will document the real input method once the game is out and tested.

This is the part that matters most before launch. Any "GTA 6 cheat code" list circulating right now is fabricated or copied straight from GTA V. Domains like gta6cheatcodes.com and similar pages are publishing codes that cannot possibly be real, because the game does not exist for anyone to test them on.

No code is real until the game ships on November 19, 2026 and is actually tested in the released build. A button sequence that "works in GTA 6" today is, at best, a recycled GTA V code with a new headline. At worst, a list like that is bait for ad farms, sketchy downloads, or account-theft schemes dressed up as cheat tools.

A simple filter: if a site claims to have working GTA 6 codes before launch, it is wrong or lying. Close the tab.
